Work continues on Louisa Middle School sidewalk project

On June 3, 2026, The City of Louisa began construction on the Louisa Middle School Sidewalk project on Wednesday, June 3, in the Gene Wilson Blvd. and Meadowbrook Lane areas and is still ongoing, drivers can expect the possibility of slight delays.

The City’s contractor is constructing a bike and pedestereain path near the school that connects to a 5-foot wide sidewalk from the intersection of Hightway 644 and Meadowbrook Lane, along the north side of Meadowbrook Lane to the intersection with Gene Wilson Boulevard.  The 5-foot sidewalk along Gene Wilson Boulevard will be on the east side of street. Approximately 924 linear feet of concrete sidewalk with draining and improvements are included in the nearly four-tenths of a mile stretch.

The project received $98,842 in state funding through a Kentucky Transportation Alternative Grant, improving

pedestrian access between residential areas with both the hospital and school properties.
