Winners chosen for ‘Lawrence County’s Got Talent’

LOUISA — Winners of the first “Lawrence County’s Got Talent” competition were crowned Saturday night at the Lawrence County Community Center.

The winners in each age division received $500, second-place winners got $100 and third-place finishers were awarded $50.

Winners in the 10 and under category were Madison Ash, first place for her performance of “Jolene” by Dolly Parton; Kyra Hylton, second place; and Kierra Caudill, third place.

EIGHTEEN AND UP: Winner Daphne Ash, Savanna Wright, second place; Josh Slone, third place; and James Maynard, fourth place.

In the 11- to 17-year-old category, first place went to Lauran Hogston, 17, for her performance of “What About Us” by Pink; second place went to Loud Diversion (Ethan Burgess, Grant Stalvey and Trey Hall); and third place went to Haylee Pavlovski.

In the 18 and up category, first place went to Daphne Ash for her performance of “Easy on Me” by Adele; second place went to Savanna Wright; third place went to Josh Slone; and fourth place went to James Maynard.

All acts on Feb. 25 were given 90 seconds to show their talent, and the top five from each category were brought back Feb. 26 for a final show, during which participants received three minutes for their acts.
