LOUISA — An episode of HGTV’s “Ugliest House in America” series featuring a Lawrence County family will air this week.

The Season 3, Episode 5, featuring Donna Fluty and her son, Gregory Fluty, is scheduled to air Thursday at 8 p.m. on HGTV.

The Flutys participated in a contest on HGTV that shows the ugliest homes in America, and the winner will win a $150,000 renovation.

The host, Retta, travels across the country looking for ugly houses. The renovation is to be designed by Allison Victoria of Windy City Rehab on HGTV.

There are originally 15 contestants, and the program does a full home tour with background information on the town where it is located. The contestants are then narrowed down to five finalists, with the winner announced during the season finale.

Gregory Fluty said that due to confidentiality agreements, they are only allowed to say they are on the show but can’t disclose whether they are finalists or the winner, or give details about their participation.

Gregory Fluty said a film crew of sound engineers, makeup and hair artists, etc., came to Louisa on July 15, 2022, and filmed Thursday’s episode.
