Three Rivers Medical Center celebrates 50 years

Three River’s Medical Center celebrated five decades of serving Louisa and the surrounding communities Friday, Nov. 1.

The 90-bed hospital, built in 1974 was first named Louisa Community Hospital from 1974-1985 before becoming Humana Hospital Louisa 1985-1992 and then Three River’s Medical Center 1992-present.

Master of ceremonies and Chief Executive Officer of TRMC, Greg Kiser recognized two employees for 50 years of service during the ceremony, Connie Sammons Nursing Supervisor and Ramona Hatfield Nursing Secretary.

Guest speakers were retired physician Dr. Norman Edwards, Family Practice physician, Dr. Marc Workman, Senior Advisor to Governor of KY, Rocky Adkins, Lawrence County Judge Executive, Phil Carter and Louisa Mayor, Harold Slone.

The special event catered by Rebel Barn, was attended by current hospital staff along with those who worked throughout the years.

People from all around the community, businesses and schools all gathered underneath the well decorated gathering tent.

Kiser also took time to remember several doctors who have passed away among those were Dr. Mark Kingston, Dr. Lloyd Browning, Dr. Ronald Ross, Dr. George Phillip Carter, Dr. William McNabb and Dr. Arthur Richards.
