Three arrested in Louisa after search warrant executed

LOUISA — Three men were arrested Saturday in connection with the execution of a search warrant at 11 Ginger Street in Louisa in reference to a drug-trafficking investigation.

Clarence J. Harless, 51, of Louisa, is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, greater than or equal to two grams of methamphetamine; drug paraphernalia-buy/possess; and first-degree persistent felony offender.

Joseph L. Berry, 40, of Fort Gay, W.Va., is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, greater than or equal to two grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia-buy/possess. He was also arrested on an active indictment warrant for first-degree possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia-buy/possess.

Chad Franklin Caudill, 26, of Louisa, is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia-buy/possess.

During the execution of the search warrant by the Louisa Police Department, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and Lawrence County constables, a total of approximately 22 grams of suspected methamphetamine were seized along with multiple items of drug paraphernalia associated with drug trafficking and usage.

The case remains under investigation by Louisa police officer Teddy Newsome.

Harless, Berry and Caudill were all taken into custody and transported to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Johnson County.
