The Martin County Grand Jury Indicts 13 in January Session

The new year started out as busy one for the grand jury in Martin County as they sent 13 cases up for further review.

Judy Faye Pauley, 63, of Inez, was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree Fentanyl (complicity), trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine (complicity), trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree opioids (complicity).

The indictment states that on Sept. 10, 2025, she, along with Clarence Pauley, were in possession of 2.742 grams of Fentanyl, $153 in cash, scales, individual baggies, with the intent to sell. They were said to also be in possession of 5.78 grams of Methamphetamine with the intent to traffic along with (6) dosage units of hydrocodone.

Clarence Shane Pauley, 41, of Inez, was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree Fentanyl (complicity), trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine (complicity), trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree opioids (complicity).

The indictment states that on Sept.10, 2025, he, along with Judy Faye Pauley, were in possession of 2.742 grams of Fentanyl, $153 in cash, scales, individual baggies, with the intent to sell. They were said to also be in possession of 5.78 grams of Methamphetamine with the intent to traffic along with (6) dosage units of hydrocodone.

Willis G. Horn, 35, of Inez, was charged with fleeing/evading police 1st degree, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs/alcohol 1st offense, possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree (2 counts), wanton endangerment in the 2nd degree (3) counts, and reckless driving.

The indictment states that on March 29, 2025, Horn was in possession of (4) dosage units of Gabapentin, (4) dosage units of Phentermine, engaged in conduct that created substantial danger to Ashley Horn and (2) juveniles and was charged with reckless driving and being under the influence in an attempt to flee from officers.

Willis G. Horn, on a separate indictment was also charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon when he was found to be in possession of a Taurus brand .9mm handgun after being convicted as a felon in Martin County Circuit Court.

Jason Kenneth Fields, 41, of Inez, was charged with bail jumping 1st degree when on Dec. 16, 2025, unlawfully having been released from custody by the court with or without bail upon condition that he/she will subsequently appear at a specified time and place in connection with a felony charge, failed to appear.

Jeremy Scott Williams, 33, of Kermit, WV, was charged with bail jumping 1st degree when on Dec.18, 2025, unlawfully having been released from custody by the court with or without bail upon condition that he/she will subsequently appear at a specified time and place in connection with a felony charge, failed to appear.

Joshua Moore, 27, of Inez, was charged with bail jumping 1st degree when on Dec. 4, 2025, unlawfully having been released from custody by the court with or without bail upon condition that he/she will subsequently appear at a specified time and place in connection with a felony charge, failed to appear.

Roy Kenneth Goble, 50, of Pilgrim, was charged with bail jumping 1st degree when on Dec. 4, 2025, unlawfully having been released from custody by the court with or without bail upon condition that he/she will subsequently appear at a specified time and place in connection with a felony charge, failed to appear.

Amos Ray Evans, 50, Lovely, was charged with bail jumping 1st degree when on Dec. 16, 2025, unlawfully having been released from custody by the court with or without bail upon condition that he/she will subsequently appear at a specified time and place in connection with a felony charge, failed to appear.

Danese D. Chaffins, 34, of Inez, was charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree opiates hydrocodone (2 counts), possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (fentanyl), possession of marijuana, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs 1st offense within 10 years for an incident that occurred on Sept. 19, 2025.

Scottie McKenzie, 54, of Wittensville, was charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance 2nd degree (suboxone) for an incident that occurred on Aug. 25, 2025.

Brett Waller, 61, of Lovely, was charged with fleeing/evading police 2nd degree on foot for an incident that occurred on Dec. 7, 2025.
