The City of Louisa mourns the loss of former mayor

Former long-time mayor Teddy Preston, 82, was laid to rest in the Greenlawn Cemetery Sunday, May 25, after his death on Thursday, May 22, following a brief illness.
He was elected to serve three terms as the Mayor of Louisa after serving the city many years on the city council.
Preston was a Church of Christ Minister for over 60 years and also served his community as deputy Lawrence County Coroner for 12 years, was a Licensed Kentucky Funeral Director and part owner in Young Funeral Home in Louisa.
Preston loved serving Louisa and was a long-time University of Kentucky fan.
Mayor Harold Slone said βOn behalf of all of us at the City of Louisa we would like to honor our previous Mayor Ted Preston. We thank you for your service to our city.β
He leaves behind a daughter, Sheila Bowen (Joe); two sons, Curtis Preston (Neffie) and Eddie Preston (Sandy); seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Gary and Jimmy Preston.
