LOUISA — A Lawrence County teacher shaved his hair and beard as part of a challenge to raise money for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to aid with children’s cancer research. Craig “Goldenboy” McDavid of Fallsburg Elementary said in a video that he has been associated with the organization since 2010 and has raised more than $6,000. McDavid said in his video that he has already reached his goal this year and had raised $554 as of April 15, but added that he would continue to accept donations through April 30. “I’ve already surpassed the goal, but the further I go, the happier I am,” McDavid said. “So, keep donating through April 30.” McDavid said he doesn’t actually get to donate the hair but that he shaves his head in solidarity with the children who have lost their hair and that he hadn’t shaved his beard in three years. “I’ve trimmed it, but I haven’t been baby-faced in a while” McDavid said.
