GARRETT — Items recently stolen in the Floyd County community of Garrett have been recovered, according to District 2 Constable Gary Nelson.

Richard Wright posted a $1,000 reward for the identity of those involved for breaking in to his father’s place in Garrett, where they took a number of Stihl weedeaters and chainsaws as well as a gasoline air compressor.

“Thanks to the fast response and the many replies to our post regarding the items stolen last night in the Garrett community, they include multiple Stihl weedeaters, chainsaws and a gasoline air compressor,” Nelson said in a press release issued Feb. 7. “Today I received information that led to the recovery of the stolen items from Garrett and Lackey. I also recovered the stolen CAT batteries from Happyjack Howard work excavator. Those items were recovered today in the Bolen Branch area of Garrett. I would also like to thank the Kentucky State Police Post 9 in Pikeville for assisting me in recovering these stolen items and returning them to the rightful owners.”

Wright also posted that “the house was full of other stolen stuff, so if you’re missing anything, check there.”

The press release did not say whether anyone was being charged with the theft.
