A Louisa woman was arrested after she was observed not scanning items at the Louisa Walmart on Wednesday, Jan. 21.

According to an arrest citation by Louisa Police Officer Chase Kirk, he observed Kaydee Castle, 39, “not properly scanning items” that were inside her cart. The citation stated that while he was at the store investigating a burglary, he watched Castle passing by all points of sale with the unpaid items after she paid for the items that she did scan.

After Ptl. Kirk made contact with the store’s theft department, he advised this made the fifth time in approximately a thirty-day period of time in which Castle had been seen on security film obtaining items without paying for them but was able to leave without being stopped.

She was charged with theft by unlawful taking/shoplifting and transported to Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.

Castle is a teacher in the Johnson County School System employed at W.R. Castle School. Castle is also a local businesswoman and recently started an online clothing store Mitch & Kate’s Boutique.
