PRESTONSBURG — The Prestonsburg Police Department issued a statement that they were looking for a man, Kenneth Kyle Greer, who they have confirmed led multiple law enforcement agencies on a high-speed reckless pursuit Saturday night, Oct. 12, in his 2021 GMC Sierra. Greer has a history of fleeing police, and currently has active Failure to Appear orders resulting from some of his prior criminal cases.

At approximately 11:00 p.m., per his M.O., Pikeville Police got multiple reports of his truck driving recklessly at an extremely high rate of speed on US 23 near Foggy Mountain on the south end of Pikeville. Pikeville PD officers located the vehicle and it was, in fact, driving erratically at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. Those officers attempted to stop the vehicle, which fled up US 119, made a U-Turn and back out of US 119 to US 23 where it fled north toward Floyd County at speeds in excess of 120 miles per hour.

Once in Floyd County, Pikeville PD officers terminated their chase but continued to attempt to locate the truck, and did so at the Stanville Cardinal Country Store. A review of the footage there confirms Greer to be in operation of the vehicle when he came in the store shouting at the clerk to “hurry up, I’m in a hurry,” jumped back in it and fled from officers.

By this time, Floyd SO and Prestonsburg PD units had arrived in the area and contacted the truck fleeing the gas station nearly hitting one officer head on as he drove onto US 23. That officer was able to identify Greer in the driver’s seat as well.

Greer continued north on US 23 toward Allen at speeds in excess of 120 miles per hour nearly striking another officer head on who again saw Greer through the windshield. Greer fled up Cow Creek into the Endicott community, struck another motorist, and continued until he reached the end of state maintenance and fled on foot. His truck was recovered and is impounded.

As he has done in the past, Greer reported his truck stolen from the location we chased him through after he left the Cardinal Country Store, (and we all know new trucks that have push button start like this one does are next to impossible to take without the keys).

In addition to the severe felony charges, Greer has added on one count of falsely reporting an incident to his rap. We wanted to go take his report, but he wouldn’t tell us where he was. Greer has multiple warrants for his arrest, a suspended license, and is also known to drive a black 3500 dually Silverado with tinted windows and an older model Ram Power Wagon.

Following a tip from the public on Sunday, Oct. 13, that Greer was sighted in the passenger side of a white Buick passenger car coming into Prestonsburg with temporary tags, officers responded to the area and located a vehicle matching that description.

Officers attempted a traffic stop of the vehicle with lights and siren activated. The vehicle failed to yield, made a turn at the Justice Center and was cut off by police officers, where Greer was arrested without incident. Additionally, the driver of the car, Jordan Hall of Salyersville was arrested for Fleeing or Evading Police (Motor Vehicle) and Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution.
