LOUISA — The annual Lawrence County Fair Pageant was held Saturday, July 24, at the Lawrence County Community Center in Louisa.

Winner of the Prettiest Baby was 1-year-old Kaylynn Fitch, daughter of Brittany and Todd Fitch of Louisa. She was also won Most Photogenic. The runner-up was 4-month-old Wrenleigh Cordial, daughter of Madison and Wyatt Cordial of Louisa.

Winner of Cutest Toddler was Ahnna Lyons, 4-year old daughter of Andrea and Christopher Lyons of Louisa. The runner-up was Addison Bevins, 4-year-old daughter of Ashley and Cody Bevins of Louisa, while the second runner-up was Harlee Dawn Dotson, 3-year old daughter of Tessa and Steven Dotson of Louisa.

Winner of Tiny Miss Lawrence County was Madison Thompson, 5-year-old of Walter and Billie Thompson of Louisa. She also won Most Photogenic.

Winner of the Little Miss Lawrence County contest was Sydney Ash, 10-year-old daughter of Brandi and Daniel Ash of Louisa. She also received Most Photogenic.

Olivia Janka, 17-year-old daughter of Jessica Moore of Louisa, was crowned Miss Lawrence County. The runner-up was Brooke Neal, 16-year-old daughter of Sandra and Michael Caudill of Louisa, and the second runner-up was Citori Branham, 17-year-old daughter of Melissa Branham and Brian Branham of Louisa.

The pageant was the first official event held as part of the Lawrence County Fair, which opens Thursday at its new location on Pine Hill Road with Lawrence County Judge-Executive Phil Carter conducting the opening ceremony. The Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct a flag salute, and Becky Carter will sing the National Anthem.

Check-ins for the livestock show featuring cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, etc., will be from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., with the show set to begin at 6 p.m. Cowboy Church will start at 7 p.m. at the Farmer’s Market, with Mike Cox and Greg Caudill as preacher and singers featuring Living Waters and the Branham Family. The fair closes at 9 p.m.

On Friday, the fair opens at 4 p.m., with the livestock show check-ins from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and the show beginning at 6 p.m. with rabbits and chickens. Record book and posters will also be judged, and mutton busting preliminary signups for the first 30 children will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The Lawrence County Horse Show with the Lawrence County Saddle Club, featuring 25 different classes, will begin at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, cultural art exhibits open at 10 a.m. with check-ins at 10 a.m. and judging at noon.

The Sixth Annual Car/Truck/Cycle Show/Tractor Show will be held from 10 a.m. till noon. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the Louisa Methodist Church.

Corn hole begins at 10 a.m. with $200 in prize money.

The livestock premium sale begins at 11 a.m., and the buyer’s banquet is at noon. A tractor pull begins at noon, with signups beginning at 11 a.m.

A greased pig contest starts at noon and outhouse races begin at 2 p.m. Signups are from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The fairgrounds will be cleared between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., except for people who have pre-purchased a rodeo wrist band, and will be re-opened at 5 p.m., with admission for adults at $10 per person; children 12 and under will be admitted free.

The King Brothers Rodeo will begin at 7 p.m., with the top 10 mutton busting finals during intermission.

Sam L. Smith will perform following the rodeo, and the fair will close after his show.
