Officials investigate fatal shooting

WAYNE COUNTY, W.Va. — A Lawrence County man was fatally shot in Fort Gay, W.Va., last week.

James Fitzpatrick, 26, of Fallsburg, died as a result of a gunshot wound, according to information released by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating the shooting.

The incident reportedly happened along Webb Cemetery Road in Fort Gay early Tuesday morning, Jan. 19.

Additional details were not available at press time Tuesday.

Funeral arrangements were pending at press time at Young Funeral Home in Louisa.
