Noah Thompson to play at Grand Ole Opry

Lawrence County native and American Idol winner in 2022 Noah Thompson is headed to The Grand Ole Opry Saturday, May 31, showtime is 7 p.m.
The singer found out from country music superstar Carrie Underwood who mentored him during the Idol competition while he appeared as a guest during this season’s finale, saying he is a beloved member of the Idol family and now will be a member of the Opry family when he makes his first appearance.
Thompson, who was very surprised, said he knew his managers were hiding something from him for the past few months.
Thompson has been performing in many different states and keeping the crowds happy with songs he performed on Idol along with originals that have become well-loved and popular with the large crowds he sings them to.
At any live show you can hear everyone singing loudly to his hits such as “One Day Tonight” “Middle of God Knows Where” “Make You Rich” “Upbringing” “What You’re Made Of” “Here Lately” and “Us No More”.
Thompson also made a country rendition out of “Stay” the hit song by Rhiannon a huge success after getting great feedback on his version of it during the season finale show of Idol.
Throughout his life, the Idol competition and his rising success, his number one fan continues to be proud of him,
his grandmother Karen Preston-Thompson, who made several appearances with him during his Idol competition, said seeing Noah back on American Idol as a guest for this season’s finale show brought back so many memories of his journey there.
“The anticipation and excitement of watching him every week, seems like yesterday and at the same time forever ago,” said Karen. “He’s worked so hard and has grown so much in the past years. What an honor to be invited to the Opry! I am beyond proud of him and his accomplishments and I am looking forward to his debut! I am excited to be there to share this very special night with him. We are really blessed!
