LOUISA —The Lawrence County Extension Board is adding a building to the county Fairgrounds.
This project, currently in the design phase, and will be used primarily for 4-H and other Extension Office Programs as well as Fairground activities. The 2000 square foot single story building will house a classroom/meeting room with a small kitchen and some office space. The Board hopes to take this project to bid later this fall with project completion anticipated by Summer 2024.
“This building will give us the classroom space we need adjacent to the livestock area of the fairgrounds to better serve the 4-H students of Lawrence County while also giving a meeting space for the benefit of the horse show and other related events,” Lawrence County 4-H Extension Agent Maelyn Dotson said.
“The Board would like to thank Judge Phillip Carter, the Lawrence County Fiscal Court, Mayor Harold Slone and the Louisa City Council for their support of this project,” Lawrence County Extension Board Chairman Wes Kingsmore said.
