Martin man charged with drug offenses

MARTIN — A Martin resident was arrested Thursday on drug-related offenses.
Steven S. Stephens, 43, is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine; possession of marijuana; and three counts of drug paraphernalia buy/possess.
According to a release issued by the Martin Police Department, officer Brad Stidam was patrolling in Martin and conducted a traffic stop on Ky. 1428 at Lee’s Lane near Arkansas Creek Road. During the traffic stop, a baggie with approximately eight grams of a white crystal-like substance believed to be crystal methamphetamine, a small baggie of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found, the release said. Stephens was taken into custody and lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center. The Martin Police Department was assisted by District 2 Constable Gary Nelson.
