Martin County Indicts 14

INEZ —The Martin County Grand Jury issued 14 indictments on Sept. 5.

•Harlan Jude, 53, of Pilgrim, is charged with third-degree assault of a police/probation officer; third-degree fleeing or evading police on foot; third-degree escape; resisting arrest; menacing and public intoxication, excluding alcohol.

On or before Aug. 6, Jude allegedly assaulted or attempted to assault Martin Co. Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Kidd while he was working within the official capacity of his office, by namely exposing the officer to saliva, vomit, mucus, blood or urine without the consent of the officer; he disobeyed commands by Deputy Kidd to stop and who had reasonable suspicion that Jude had committed a crime; he attempted to prevent Kidd from effecting an arrest by using or threatening to use physical force against the officer; he placed another person in reasonable apprehension of imminent physical danger and he was manifestly under the influence of a controlled substance to the degree he may endanger himself or other persons or property, or unreasonably annoy persons in his vicinity.

•Lonnie Mitchell Pauley, 61, of Inez, is charged with first, second and third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance; trafficking marijuana, all with a firearm enhancement and possession/use drug paraphernalia.

On or before June 20, Pauley was allegedly in possession of 3.326 grams of methamphetamine, nine dosage units of Suboxone, 131 dosage units of Gabapentin, $655 along with marijuana and five glass pipes containing chemical residue, while in possession of a Harrington and Richardson Brand 12-gauge shotgun with the intent to traffic.

•Steve A. Marcum, 55, of Louisa, is charged with criminal littering; first-degree possession of a controlled substance; possession/use of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence.

On or before Aug. 6, Marcum allegedly threw litter onto a public roadway without having any permission to do so; he was in possession of methamphetamine, a narcotics pipe with burn residue used to ingest controlled substances and he concealed physical evidence that he believed would be used against him in an official proceeding.

•William E. Moore, 52, of Louisa, is charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs; failure to wear seatbelts; operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license and first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

On or before July 11, Moore allegedly operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or other substances that impair a driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle; he transported an adult passenger in a motor vehicle on the roadways of Kentucky while the passenger was not properly restrained by a seat belt; he operated a motor vehicle while his operator’s license was suspended or revoked and he was in possession of methamphetamine.

•Ricky L. Goble, 60, of Irvine, is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

On or before July 27, Goble was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine.

•Jolas Chelsey, 32, of Cookville, TN, is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

On or before July 16, Chelsey was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine.

•Benjamin Blackburn, 62, of Long Bottom, Ohio, is charged with first-degree bail jumping.

On or before Aug. 1, Blackburn after allegedly having been released from custody by the court upon the condition that he would appear at a specified time and place in connection with a Martin County felony charge, 23-CR-00037, he failed to appear as ordered by the court for a pre-trial conference hearing.

•Garland Mills, 50, of Pilgrim, is charged with first-degree bail jumping.

On or before Aug. 1, Mills, after allegedly having been released from custody by the court upon the condition that he would appear at a specified time and place in connection with a Martin County felony charge, 24-CR-00046, he failed to appear as ordered by the court for a pre-trial conference hearing.

•Bryan Moore, 54, of Inez, is charged in two separate indictments. In the first one, he is charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle; operating a motor vehicle on a suspended or revoked operator’s license and reckless driving.

On or before June 11, Moore allegedly disregarded signals and commands to stop giving by Martin County Sheriff John Kirk, while acting within his official capacity of the office and had reasonable suspicion that Moore had committed a crime; he operated a motor vehicle while his license was suspended or revoked and he recklessly operated a motor vehicle upon the roadways of the Commonwealth of Kentucky without due regard for the safety and convenience of pedestrians and other vehicles upon the roadway.

In the second indictment, Moore is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence.

On or before June 11, Moore was allegedly in possession of approximately 2.4 grams of methamphetamine and he destroyed, removed, altered or concealed physical evidence that he believed would be used against him in an official proceeding.

•Larry Jude, 58, and Andy E. Stacy, 72, both of Inez, are charged with first-degree possession of opiates/complicity and third-degree possession of a controlled substance/complicity.

Stacy is additionally charged with careless driving.

On or before Aug. 26, Jude and Stacy were allegedly in possession of four and one-half dosage units of oxycodone and four dosage units of gabapentin.

Stacy allegedly operated a motor vehicle upon a Kentucky roadway in a careless manner with no regard for the safety and convenience of pedestrians and other vehicles upon the roadway.

•Brittany Gilmore, 34, of Inez, is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance; possession/use drug paraphernalia; operating a motor vehicle on a suspended or revoked operator’s license and failure to produce an insurance card.

On or before Aug. 6, Gilmore was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine, five syringes, two pipes and a glass straw and she operated a motor vehicle upon a Kentucky roadway without a proper insurance card as required in KRS 304.39-117.

•Joe Allen Evans, 52, of Inez, is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

On or before Feb. 26, Evans was allegedly in possession of approximately 49.9 grams of cocaine and a plastic bag containing marijuana.
