Louisa Rotary honors local veterans

The Louisa Rotary Club gathered on Thursday, Nov. 13, for a special afternoon honoring our local veterans, complete with a delicious dinner by Rebel Barn Catering. The room was filled with fellowship and gratitude as members and guests joined together to celebrate those who have served our country.

During the meeting, Chris Jobe proudly presented Patricia Kincaid of Love Joy Ministries with a check to support her 13th annual Country Christmas event. This heartfelt outreach helps brighten the season for families—especially children—throughout Lawrence County and neighboring communities. Anyone wishing to donate toys or provide monetary support is encouraged to reach out to Patricia and help spread a little extra cheer this Christmas.

Immediately after the meeting, several Rotarians continued the spirit of service with a meaningful visit to The Millard School, where they handed out dictionaries to third-grade students. They previously visited Louisa East, Fallsburg and Blaine. This long-standing Rotary tradition provides dictionaries to every third-grader in the Lawrence County School District, reinforcing the club’s commitment to education, literacy, and investing in the future of our children. It was a wonderful ending to an afternoon full of community, kindness, and service above self.
