Louisa Mayor Signs Proclamation For Child Abuse Prevention Month

LOUISA- Louisa Mayor Harold Slone signed a proclamation on the behalf of the City of Louisa proclaiming April Child Abuse Prevention Month.

The proclamation states that children are vital to our state’s future success, prosperity and quality of life as well as being our most vulnerable asset.

The signed proclamation also stated that child abuse is a community responsibility and should ensure parents are provided with social support, knowledge of parenting and child development with concrete resources.

“As the Mayor, I also call upon Louisa citizens, community agencies, faith groups, medical facilities, elected leaders and businesses to increase their participation in out efforts to support families, thereby preventing child abuse and strengthening the communities of which we live,” said Mayor Harold Slone.
