Louisa Early Head Start Opening
AYOR HAROLD SLONE and Judge Executive Phillip Carter were on hand to participate in the grand opening of the Louisa Early Head Start on Friday, Feb. 9. Early Head Start serves children 6-weeks of age to 36-months, then they transition into the Head Start program. Also pictured is Tessia Steven Dotson and Amanda Stapleton-Tuhy.
David Carroll, Executive Director of Northeast wasn’t able to attend, but a statement to be read. “Northeast is very proud to be opening this Early Head Start Center and we hope to be an asset to the families of Louisa and Lawrence County. We realized the need for early childhood care in this area and were able to work with the Office of Head Start to get funding to open the center. Our program for the children will concentrate on the family as a whole and ultimately give the children the best opportunity for a great start in life and be ready to begin school.”
