Louisa Cash Express honors First Responders in Lawrence County
Every year on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks (Sept. 11, 2001), Cash Express honors fire departments, police departments and other first responders with a remembrance cake.
The local Louisa store honored the LC Sheriff’s office, Louisa City Police, 9-1-1, Louisa, Webbville, Cherryville, Blaine and Fallsburg fire departments, Three Rivers Medical Center, Patriot Ambulance and several first responders in Wayne County, WV.
Nearly 3,000 people was killed during the attack, with so many of them first responders.
“On some anniversaries we celebrate, and on others we reflect. This 24th anniversary of the attack on the New York World Trade Center is one of those times for reflection as there is truly nothing to celebrate in the extraordinary tragedy that was 9/11,” said Garry McNabb, Cash Express LLC chief executive officer. “But as much as I would like to forget some of the images from that day, there is one memory which I want to hold onto and cherish: the memory of the heroism and selflessness demonstrated by law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians and dispatch operatives.”
“The way we show our appreciation may differ from community to community, but the way I see it, as more and more people became involved this simple gesture transformed into an annual reaffirmation to our first responders, a way to say, ‘Thank you, we salute you,’” said McNabb.
