LOUISA — The Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) presented the city of Louisa with a 2022 Liability Grant.

KLC member cities receive the money to help fund various programs and services that reduce liability and make the community safer.

A check was presented to Louisa Mayor and KLC Board of Directors member Harold Slone, who thanked the KLC for the funds and stressed the grant’s positive impact on the community. The city will use the money to repair and replace sidewalks.

“We appreciate the KLC providing this grant to help our city continue to protect our citizens and those who visit Louisa,” Slone said. “Our partnership with KLC is a valuable one, and we thank the leadership and staff for their service to Kentucky’s cities.”

KLC Executive Director and CEO James D. Chaney said the KLC is proud to be able to help members provide important safety initiatives.

“These funds will help ensure the safety of city employees and the public,” Chaney said in a release. “We appreciate the city’s commitment to making safety a priority.”

KLC has awarded more than $5.5 million in liability and safety grants since 1999.
