Due to the government shutdown, one local food vendor has decided to offer free meals to anyone feeling the strain of uncertainty.

Hillbilly Hibachi in Louisa is offering a menu of teriyaki chicken, fried rice and Yum Yum sauce to those that are being affected by this shutdown. These will be slightly smaller portions than normal. “Let us know at the window, no reason for embarrassment,” said owner Adam Brown. “We just want to feed you. This isn’t just about a free meal. It’s about showing up for our neighbors. Whether you’re a SNAP recipient, a federal worker, or anyone feeling the ripple effects of uncertainty right now, we want you to know you’re not alone and you’re welcome at our table.”

Brown said he wants to give back to his community that has given so much to them and expressed his concern for anyone who may not have enough to eat.

“Nobody goes hungry on my watch,” said Brown.
