Lawrence Grand Jury returns 13 indictments

LOUISA — The Lawrence County Grand Jury returned 13 indictments Thursday.
Named in the true bills were:
• Christopher Curry, 42, of Dunlow, W.Va., charged with two counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, one count of second-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession/use of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication for allegedly possessing heroin, methamphetamine, suboxone, and an altered sniffing/inhaling device containing chemical residue; and being manifestly under the influence of a controlled substance or other intoxicating substance to the degree that he was a danger to himself or other persons or property, or unreasonably annoy persons in his vicinity on Feb. 16.
• Pamela Mathieu, 52, of Louisa, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing an unspecified drug on Oct. 25.
• Johnny Steven Kirk, 25, of Adena, Ohio, charged with theft by unlawful taking over $1,000 but less than $10,000 and second-degree persistent felony offender for allegedly taking a pull-behind trailer owned by Twin Rivers Wholesale, with a value of $2,681, on July 1 and for having previously been convicted of a felony.
• James A. Jude, 60, of Louisa, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing methamphetamine on Aug. 17.
• Robert Music, 54, of Louisa, charged with theft by unlawful taking over $1,000 (shoplifting) for allegedly taking $1,039.88 in items from Walmart of Louisa on March 12.
• Andrea Perry, 44, of Louisa, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, careless driving, obstructing emergency responder violations and resisting arrest for allegedly possessing methamphetamine, Xanax and an altered glass pipe with chemical residue; destroying, removing, altering or concealing evidence that she believed would be used against her in an official proceeding; she was in possession of Xanax; an altered glass pipe with chemical residue; failing to operate her motor vehicle in a careful manner with regard for safety and convenience of pedestrians; obstructing emergency responders from doing their duties; and attempting to prevent officers from the Paintsville Police Department from effecting an arrest by using or threatening to use physical force against the officers on Sept. 1.
• Jennifer Preston, 46, of Paintsville, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, illegal possession of a legend drug, reckless driving, no registration plate, no registration plate and failure to wear seatbelts for allegedly possessing methamphetamine and a legend drug without a prescription; destroying, removing, altering or concealing physical evidence that she believed would be used against her in an official proceeding; operating a motor vehicle upon the roadways without due regard for the safety and convenience of pedestrians and other vehicles on the roadway; failing to conspicuously display the registration plate on and for the motor vehicle she was operating; and wasn’t wearing a seatbelt on Oct. 27.
• Eric Mosley, 49, of Blaine, charged in three separate indictments. In the first indictment, Mosley is charged with third-degree burglary for allegedly entering and remaining in property owned by Bradley Gilliam of Blaine with the intent to commit theft on June 29.
In the second indictment, Mosley is charged with third-degree burglary for allegedly entering and remaining in property owned by Carrie Wages of Louisa with the intent to commit theft on Aug. 5.
In the third indictment, Mosely is charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; cultivating marijuana, more than five plants; first-degree possession of a controlled substance; and possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing a handgun, a 16-gauge shotgun and a .22-caliber rifle after having been previously convicted of a felony; cultivating more than five marijuana plants; and possessing methamphetamine, syringes and altered spoons containing chemical residue on Aug. 5.
• Clinton Offenburg, age unavailable, of Legrange, Ohio, charged with second-degree assault, domestic violence, for allegedly intentionally causing serious physical injury to Deborah Murdock of Louisa, by means of his hands and feet on Oct. 29.
• Arthur Winfree, 68, of Louisa, charged with two counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a victim under 12 and one count of first-degree sexual abuse for allegedly subjecting two minors under the age of 12 to sexual contact two or more times and a minor under the age of 16 to sexual contact two or more times between Sept. 1, 2021 and Nov. 30, 2021.
• Homer Hale, 43, of Louisa, charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance/firearm enhancement and trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces)/firearm enhancement for allegedly possessing two grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, $434 in cash, baggies and digital scales with the intent to traffic in the drugs while in possession of three shotguns, three pistols and a .22-caliber rifle on July 30.
