Lawrence Grand Jury returns 10 indictments

LOUISA — Ten indictments were returned Thursday by the Johnson County Grand Jury.

Named in the true bills were:

• Eddie West, 67, of Louisa, charged with first-degree sexual abuse, victim under 12 years of age, for allegedly subjecting a minor less than 12 years of age to sexual contact two or more times between Sept. 1, 2017, and Dec. 31, 2017.

• Clayton Murphy III, 52, of Willoughby, Ohio, charged with second-degree assault for allegedly causing physical injury to Vickie Vanhorn of Louisa by means of dangerous instruments (hand and feet) on April 18.

• Herbert Ray Fletcher, 43, of Louisa, charged with first-degree assault (domestic violence) for allegedly causing serious physical injury to Kelley Fletcher by means of a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument on Aug. 5.

• James T. Barker, 58, and Ashley Cox, 34, both of Olive Hill, charged with theft by deception, more than $1,000 but under $10,000/complicity for allegedly, acting alone or in complicity with each other, obtaining property, services or monies from Kelly Brothers of Louisa by issuing or passing a $2,544 check, knowing it would not be honored by the drawee, on Aug. 15.

• Brandon Marcum, 28, of Louisa, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and tampering with physical evidence for allegedly possessing methamphetamine on Sept. 2 and destroying, altering or concealing physical evidence that he believed would be used against him in an official proceeding.

• Eddie Chadwell, 32, of Williamsburg or Luttrell, Tenn., charged with theft by unlawful taking over $1,000 for allegedly taking a 1991 Chevrolet pickup truck owned by David Sell of Martha, with a value exceeding $1,000, on July 2.

• Robert A. Cyrus, 24, of Fort Gay, W.Va., charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and prescription of a controlled substance not in a proper container for allegedly possessing methamphetamine, a pipe, pregabalin, marijuana and a controlled substance not in the proper container administered on June 8.

• Allison Perry, 19, and Jason A. Maynard, 29, both of Louisa, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance/complicity and possession of drug paraphernalia/complicity for allegedly possessing methamphetamine, pipes, baggies, syringes, an altered straw, an altered spoon and scales on June 18.
