Lawrence County Judge Executive Issues a Statement Regarding Levisa Lazer Accusations

By Phillip Carter

Lawrence County Judge Executive

LOUISA — Good afternoon fellow Lawrence Countians. Regrettably, I, and the Fiscal Court find ourselves in a position that we must defend our administration’s work and character against slanderous and libelous statements made by a local blog writer Mark Grayson of the Levisa Lazer.

It appears that Mr. Grayson is more interested in a clever headline and reporting just enough facts coupled with wild exaggerations of those facts to cause chaos versus reporting factual credible information then allowing the good people of Lawrence County to decide for themselves.

All the alleged “inside information” that Mr. Grayson recently used in his latest propaganda article against me, and my administration, are public record and available to all residents of Lawrence County and beyond. Regarding the issues reported cited by Mr. Grayson, they were handled in open fiscal court meetings and reviewed yearly by the mandatory audits each county has.

I implore the public be diligent and do your own research, view all public records to form your own conclusion. Our office is always open to the public, any concerns a member of the public has, may be brought up at our monthly meetings or by setting up a meeting in the Judges office. Any records can be requested by submitting an Open Record Request. All Fiscal Court meeting minutes can be obtained by visiting the Lawrence County Clerk’s Office.

The Audit is publicly available for all to read at the following link:

We would ask each member of the public to look at the audit, the findings made and our office’s responses. We would also state that any concerns with our audit may be presented directly to the state auditor’s office.
