Lawrence County Hosts First Summerfest

ORGANIZERS ESTIMATED OVER 300 turned out for the first ever Summerfest 2023, held on Saturday, June 17, at the Lawrence County Wilderness Park, off Rt. 32, west of Louisa. The free event started at noon with water features for the kids, putt-putt golf all day, cornhole tournaments, train rides and Jiu Jitsu demonstrations. Food vendors selling Asian food, hamburgers, hotdogs and pulled pork, rolled ice cream, strawberry shortcakes and a coffee truck, no one left the festival hungry. There were also a farmer’s market, crafters and nature walks with a wildlife biologist. Live music began in the afternoon with Micah and Gracie, Andrew and Don Rigsby, Solid Ground, Conner Dale and Rachel Messer and The Chuck Robertson Project.
