Latest COVID-19 vaccine numbers for region released

More than 63,000 people in Lawrence, Johnson, Floyd and Martin counties have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine or have been fully vaccinated, according to the latest numbers from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

A total of 33,569 people in the four counties have received at least one dose of a vaccine, while 30,198 have been fully vaccinated, figures released Sunday by the CDC show.

In Lawrence County, 5,461 people, or 35.7 percent of the total population, have received one dose, while 4,792, or 31.3 percent, have been fully vaccinated.

A total of 8,176 people, or 36.8 percent, in Johnson County have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 7,226, or 32.6 percent, have been fully vaccinated.

In Floyd County, 15,279, or 42.9 percent, have gotten at least one dose of the vaccine, while 13,986, or 39.3 percent, have been fully vaccinated.

In Martin County, 4,653 people, or 41.6 percent, have received at least one dose, while 4,194, or 37.5 percent, have been fully vaccinated.
