Floyd Grand Jury to hear shooting case

PAINTSVILLE — Kentucky State Police in Pikeville launched a death investigation last week after the body of a Johnson County man was found outside of a residence.
KSP Post 9 received a call from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office last Wednesday, April 7, requesting assistance on a death investigation scene, according to a KSP press release.
KSP officers responded to a home on Slate Branch Road and found the body of Terry Hall, 51, outside the residence, the release said.
Hall was pronounced dead at the scene by the Johnson County Coroner’s Office, and the cause of death remains under investigation by the KSP.
Hall’s body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
Det. Kevin Newsome is leading the investigation. He was assisted on scene by KSP personnel and Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
Hall is survived by two sons, Timmy Hall and Ronald Jones, both of Paintsville; a daughter, Terri Lynn Hall of Salyersville; a brother, Wally “Bunkie” Hall of Staffordsville; a sister, Damita Reyes of Lexington; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday at Jones-Preston Funeral Home in Paintsville, with burial in Hall Family Cemetery at Slate Branch.
