Fatal Fire in Fort Gay
WAYNE COUNTY, W.Va. — A 65-year old Fort Gay man lost this life in an early morning fire, Monday, Oct. 28, on Mill Creek Road. The call came into 911 around 8:15 a.m.
Two Asplundh work crews were traveling by the residence when they saw the smoke and stopped to help, they tried to make entry into the home but was pushed back by the flames. By the time the fire department arrived on scene the structure was fully involved.
The owner of the residence, Robert Allen Estepp, was later found deceased in the home. His body was sent to the West Virginia State Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy and positive identification. The cause of the fire is undetermined, due to the massive damage sustained to the home.
