Eleven Indicted in Martin County

INEZ — Eleven people were indicted in Martin County on Thursday, May 2.

•Martin Gillespie, 50, of Lovely, is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, less than 10 dosage units of Oxycodone; first-degree persistent felony offender; trafficking in marijuana, more than 8 oz./complicity; second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, less than 20 dosage units; two counts of third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, less than 20 dosage units and use/possession drug paraphernalia.

On or before Nov. 6, 2023, Gillespie was allegedly in possession of eight dosage units o Oxycodone and $1,301.59; he is a previously convicted felon; he, acting alone or in complicity of Tommy Booth were allegedly in possession of 8.42 ounces of Marijuana, with $1,301.59 in cash monies, with the intent to traffic; Gillespie was allegedly in possession of Butalbital, Alaprazolam, Gabapentin along with a glass pipe.

•Brett Waller, 58, of Lovely, is charged with first-degree fleeing or evading on foot.

On or before March 2, Waller allegedly disregarded signals and commands to stop given by Martin County Sheriff John Kirk, while he was acting within the official capacity of his office and had reasonable suspicion that Waller had committed a crime, namely fleeing and evading and a violation of an EPO/DVO.

•Dylan Johnson, 27, of Wayland, and Nathan Collins, 21, of Bevinsville, are charged with first-degree burglary/complicity. Johnson is additionally charged with second-degree assault and theft by unlawful taking over $1,000.

On or before Aug. 8, 2023, Johnson and Collins, acting alone or in complicity with each other, allegedly entered the dwelling house of Michael Chapman of Inez, with the intent to commit a crime, while in the house or in the immediate flight was armed with a deadly weapon. Johnson allegedly assaulted Chapman causing physical injury to another person by means of a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument and he exercised control over $7,300 in cash money from Chapman with the intent to deprive him thereof.

•Jonathan Mollett, 36, of Louisa, is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession/use drug paraphernalia.

On or before Dec. 28, 2023, Mollett, was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine and an altered straw.

•Lisa Baisden, 58, Douglas Sparks, 55 and Marlo Vance, 29, all of Dingess, W.Va., are charged with two counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession/use paraphernalia-complicity.

On or before Dec. 14, 2023, Baisden, Sparks and Vance, acting alone or in complicity with each other were allegedly in possession of fentanyl, a fentanyl test strip, digital scales containing chemical residue, methamphetamine and altered straws containing chemical residue along with multiple pipes.

•Brianna Ellis, 19, of Tomahawk, is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession/use of drug paraphernalia.

On or before Jan. 7, Ellis was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine and a syringe.

•Jimmy Maynard, 44, of Warfield, is charged with fourth-degree assault. On or before Jan. 7, Maynard allegedly physically assaulted Robert Cox.
