Easter events are being held throughout the Big Sandy region, and it looks like the Easter Bunny is going to be busy this year.

In Lawrence County, the third annual Community Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for Saturday at noon at Lawrence County Wilderness Park at 77 Wilderness Road.

The event is for Lawrence County children 0-12 years of age, who will have an opportunity to have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny.

Each child will also be provided with a basket, while supplies last, for collecting eggs, and there will be two golden eggs and money eggs included in the hunt.

The Table in Louisa is also hosting the second annual Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt, with lots of prizes, Saturday beginning at noon.

The Lawrence County Food Bank is also hosting a Community Easter Egg Hunt behind the Blaine Church of God after church service on Sunday with approximately 10,000 eggs, and lots of prizes, with gift bags for all children. Rumor has it that the Easter Bunny might show up.

The town of Fort Gay, W.Va. will have an Easter Egg Hunt on April 3, beginning at 5 p.m. on the old high school lawn for ages 12 and under.

The Easter Bunny will also be making a special appearance, and a bicycle will be given away compliments of Lawrence County Sheriff Chuck Jackson. Everyone is being asked to wear their mask and to follow COVID-19 guidelines.

In Floyd County, Jenny Wiley State Resort Park announced that it will serve Easter Dinner Sunday, and reservations are required. All food will be served at the table with four seating times available. All COVID-19 mandates will be followed. To make a reservation, call (606) 889-1790.

The Little Paint First Church of God at East Point will host an Easter Trunk Hop on Friday. Participants are invited to come any time between 1 and 3 p.m. for a fun and safe alternative to its annual Easter egg hunt. Cars will be decorated for Easter/spring and loaded with filled Easter eggs. Children are invited to bring their basket and "hop" from trunk to trunk to collect eggs. Individually wrapped snacks, fun photo ops and other games will also be available.

In Johnson County, the Mountain HomePlace will host an Easter Egg Drop Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. Pre-bagged treats will be distributed by the Easter Bunny via drive-thru while adhering to CDC guidelines.
