Delays and lane closures for drilling repairs along KY 581 in Johnson County
PIKEVILLE — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of daytime closures and long delays along KY 581 in Johnson County for embankment repairs. The work site is located at MP 6.8 (.12 miles South of KY 3224) in the River area.
Work began on July 9, and will continue a few days to complete. During this time, crews will drill and repair embankments. Motorists can expect long delays and one-lane traffic when the drilling equipment is in use. A daytime closure may be necessary in areas where the road is narrow. No wide loads will be able to pass due to the size of the equipment. Motorists should seek an alternate route, especially during peak travel times. Emergency Vehicles will be accommodated. Please watch for signage and crew in and around the work zone.
GSI, INC will be performing the work. Work schedules are based on weather conditions.
