County Clerks Offices to Close for Upgrades to Motor Vehicle System

REGIONAL —December 29, will be the last day for any and all motor vehicle transactions in Lawrence, Martin, Johnson and Floyd Counties in the Big Sandy Region until Jan. 16, 2024, after changes are made to the system.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is shutting down their systems and replacing it with a new system which includes renewals of automobile and boat license, collection of automobile and boat taxes, automobile and boat transfers, duplicate titles, lien filings and disabled parking placards.

They each apologize for the inconvenience to customers.

The County Clerk’s Offices will be closed on Monday Dec. 25, and Tuesday Dec. 26, for the Christmas holiday and both Lawrence and Floyd County Clerk Offices will be closed Monday Jan. 1, 2024 for New Years Day.

In Johnson County, the county clerk’s office will also be closed January 1- 2, 2024.

In Martin County the county clerk’s office will be also be closed January 1-3, 2024.
