Community Bluegrass “Jam for Jesus” to be March 9 at Lawrence County Community Center
LOUISA — If you enjoy Bluegrass and Bluegrass Gospel music, then you want to attend the Community Bluegrass “Jam for Jesus” event on Saturday, March 9, at the Lawrence County Community Center, 205 Bulldog Lane, Louisa (beside the high school). Doors will open at noon. Food will be provided. Due to overwhelming response, the venue was changed from the Louisa Fellowship Community Church, who is sponsoring the event.
Jamming sessions will begin at noon. A “Cruise-in” will also be held from noon to 3 p.m., in the parking area.
A songwriter’s workshop will begin at 4 p.m. Learn tips and techniques from award winning writers such as Don Rigsby, Larry Cordle and Dave Carroll.
The main event will featuring Joe Mullins and The Radio Ramblers will begin at 6 p.m. Admission is free. JMRR is celebrating a Number 1 song with “Black and White” from their Let Time Ride album on Billy Blue Records. The song tops the National Bluegrass Survey’s Top 30 songs chart for February. The group also have three other albums.
The group is regular guests on The Grand Ole Opry, Bluegrass Nights at The Ryman, Guy Penrod’s Gospel Music Showcase (Daystar TV), Silver Dollar City, Dollywood and many others.
