The Louisa Police Department has issued a Public Safety Notice to make drivers aware there will be road maintenance on several different city streets.

The City of Louisa is committed to maintaining safe and smooth roadways for all residents and visitors. As part of our ongoing efforts to improve road conditions, we will be conducting extensive pothole patching throughout various streets and neighborhoods in Louisa.

Drivers should expect temporary lane closures and detours, reduced speed limits in work zones and possible delays and minor traffic disruptions during this maintenance project.

To ensure safety drivers are asked to slow down and follow posted signs when approaching and driving through work zones, pay attention to road workers and machinery in the area and allow extra travel time or consider alternate routes to avoid work zones when possible.

“We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to enhance our city’s infrastructure,” stated LPD Chief Greg Fugitt. “Thank you for helping us keep Louisa’s roads safe and well-maintained.”
