Body of missing Louisa man found

LOUISA —The body of an elderly Lawrence County man, Donald George Gussler, 81, of Louisa, who had been reported missing since Aug. 3 was found in a wooded area near his home on Friday.

Lawrence County Sheriff Chuck Jackson confirmed on Thursday that his office as well as that of Emergency Management and Search and Rescue had been combing the area in search of Gussler.

Gussler, a retired heavy equipment operator, is survived by five daughters, Ugie Ruth Moore, Marlanda Ann Moor, Clista Mercendes, Alyssa Morgan Gussler and Raven Dawn Gussler; and a brother, Willie Ray Gussler.

Funeral Services were conducted Tuesday, Aug. 9, at Wilson Funeral Home in Louisa with Rev. Roger Ross and Rev. Roger Jordan officiating. Burial will be today, Aug. 10, at 10 a.m. at Yatesville Memorial Gardens.
