40 indictments returned by Martin County Grand Jury

INEZ — The Martin County Grand Jury returned 40 indictments Thursday.Named in the true bills were:• Kelli Dials, 41, of Inez, charged with first-degree bail jumping for allegedly failing to appear in court July 16 after previously being ordered to do so.

• Edgar Maynard, 27, of Lovely, charged with first-degree bail jumping for allegedly failing to appear in court June 18 after previously being ordered to do so.

• Robert Dillon, 40, of Kermit, W.Va., charged with first-degree bail jumping for allegedly failing to appear in court July 2 after previously being ordered to do so.

• Robert Whitt, 39, of Adams, charged with first-degree bail jumping for allegedly failing to appear in court July 2 after previously being ordered to do so.

• Gregory Scott, 35, of Lovely, charged with first-degree bail jumping for allegedly failing to appear in court June 18 after previously being ordered to do so.

• Shannon R. Justice, 27, of Warfield, charged with first-degree bail jumping for allegedly failing to appear in court June 16 after previously being ordered to do so.

• Jamie Boyd, 36, of Louisa, charged with first-degree bail jumping for allegedly failing to appear in court June 18 after previously being ordered to do so.

• Tommy D. Evans, 42, of Inez, charged with first-degree bail jumping for allegedly failing to appear in court June 18 after previously being ordered to do so.Evans is charged in a second indictment with first-degree fleeing/evading, DUI suspended license, first-degree persistent felony offender and all-terrain vehicle violations for allegedly disregarding signals and commands to stop given by Martin County Deputy David Adams in an attempt to flee, operating a motor vehicle upon the highway while his license was suspended and operating an all-terrain vehicle on the highway on Aug. 12 and having previously been convicted of a felony.

• Joshua Kirk, 39, of Inez, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing methamphetamine and digital scales on Aug. 11.

• Charlene Carter, 29, of Debord, is charged with first-degree bail jumping for allegedly failing to appear in court Aug. 6 after previously being ordered to do so.Heather Mollett, 30, of Inez, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana for allegedly possessing methamphetamine and two baggies of marijuana on Aug. 11.

• Whitney Williams, 32, of Warfield, charged first-degree possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing  methamphetamine on May 21.

• Amber Kirk, 24, of Inez, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing heroin on June 4.

• Annie N. Maynard, 33, of Pilgrim, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. For allegedly methamphetamine, a pipe, digital scales, a used syringe and two baggies of marijuana on July 25.

• Arthur C. Hale,41, of Lovely, charged in four separate indictments.In the first indictment, Hale is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing methamphetamine on Aug. 8.Hale is charged with first-degree bail jumping in the second, third and fourth indictments for allegedly failing to appear in court Aug. 20 in three different cases after previously being ordered to do so.

• Martin Gillespie, 46, of Pilgrim, charged in three separate indictments.In the first indictment, Gillespie is charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon for allegedly possessing a .22-caliber handgun on July 14 after having been previously convicted of a felony.In the second indictment, Gillespie is charged with tampering with physical evidence and trafficking in less than 8 ounces of marijuana/firearm enhancement for allegedly destroying, removing, altering or concealing physical evidence that he believed would be used against him in an official proceeding, and possessing approximately 33 grams of marijuana, $1,210 in cash, digital scales and individual baggies while armed with a .22-caliber handgun on July 14.In the third indictment, Gillespie is charged with three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, cultivating marijuana (less than 5 plants) and possession/use of drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing a .22-caliber rifle, an AR-15 rifle, a 20-gauge single shot shotgun and a 9 mm handgun after having been previously convicted of a felony; planting, cultivating and/or harvesting less than five plants of marijuana with the intent to sell; and possessing a marijuana pipe and digital scales on Aug. 17.

• Charles Fletcher, 43, of Inez, charged in three indictments.In the first indictment, Fletcher is charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000 (firearm) for allegedly possessing a stolen .22-caliber handgun on Aug. 11.In the second indictment, Fletcher is charged with two counts of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon for allegedly possessing a .22-caliber handgun and a stolen handgun on Aug. 11 after having been previously convicted of a felony.In the third indictment, Fletcher is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon for allegedly possessing a long rifle Aug. 11 after having been previously convicted of a felony.

• Kody Harless, 21, of Tomahawk, charged with first-degree trafficking and first-degree wanton endangerment for allegedly possessing heroin with the intent of trafficking or distributing heroin, and engaging in conduct that created a substantial danger to another on Aug. 17.

• Casey Spence, 22, of Tomahawk, charged in two separate indictments.In the first indictment, Spence is charged with receiving stolen property over $500 and under $10,000 and as a second-degree persistent felony offender. For allegedly possessing a 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle Aug. 16 stolen from Paintsville with a value exceeding $500 and for having been a previously convicted felon.In the second indictment, Spence is charged with second-degree escape and second-degree persistent felony offender for allegedly escaping the custody of the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, while in transport to or from the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on Aug. 18 and for having been a previously convicted felon.

• Matthew Daniel, 29, of Tomahawk, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing methamphetamine, an altered glass pipe and two sets of scales on Aug. 8.

• Ada Preece, 28, of Louisville, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia-complicity for allegedly possessing methamphetamine and a set of digital scales on Aug. 18.

• Darlene Kitts, 45, of Tomahawk, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance/complicity for allegedly, acting alone or in complicity with Anthony Osborne, Paul Smith and Eric Smith, possessing methamphetamine on Aug. 18.

• Mary Setser, 49, of Inez, is charged with third-degree assault of a police officer and drug paraphernalia for allegedly physically assaulting Martin County Sheriff’s Deputy David Adams and possessing a glass pipe on Aug. 11.

• Anthony Osborne, 42, of Inez, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence for allegedly possessing methamphetamine and destroying, removing, altering or concealing physical evidence that he believed would be used against him in an official proceeding on Aug. 5.

• Paul D. Smith, 37, of Inez, charged with tampering with physical evidence and first-degree possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing methamphetamine and destroying, removing, altering or concealing physical evidence that he believed would be used against him in an official proceeding and possessing methamphetamine on Aug. 14.

• Minnie Marcum, 57, of Inez, charged with three counts of first-degree trafficking, firearm enhancement, for allegedly possessing heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, three sets of digital scales and a sawed off 12-gauge Mossberg shotgun on July 21.

• Lori Ann Luster, 42, of Inez, charged with first-degree bail jumping for allegedly failing to appear in court Jan. 16 after previously being ordered to do so.

• Ricky Pauley, 27, of Pilgrim, charged with first-degree bail jumping for allegedly failing to appear in court July 2 after previously being ordered to do so.

• Ricky Pauley, 27, Amanda Kirk, 44, and Bobby Farmer, 27, all of Pilgrim, charged with second-degree burglary/complicity for allegedly entering and/or remaining in a dwelling house on North Wolf Creek Road in Pilgrim owned by Roger Maynard with the intent to commit a crime on July 15.

• Doris Strickland, 45, of Louisa, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing methamphetamine on May 13.

• Richard May, 33, of Pikeville, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing methamphetamine and a syringe on July 25.

• Kassandra Hamilton, 28, of Inez, and Stephanie Hobbs, 47, of Beauty, charged with two counts of first-degree trafficking/complicity for allegedly, acting alone or in complicity with each other, possessing fentanyl, heroin, $1,295 in cash, digital scales and several individual baggies with the intent of trafficking fentanyl and heroin.(Editor’s note: An indictment is not an indication of guilt but a determination by a grand jury that criminal charges warrant further judicial review.)
