36th Annual Louisa Septemberfest

If you were not here at the 36th annual Septemberfest festival in Louisa on Sept. 6-7, you missed out on some of the best musical talent around. Friday night, Guns for Hire took the stage and gave us a great show, followed by Hunter Girl and then Brit Taylor.

Saturday afternoon, the winner of the Open Mic competition was Molly Compton. Hammertowne, Lonesome Express and The Grascals put on a top-notch bluegrass show on the Main Street stage. Mason Adkins and The Chuck Robertson Project performed on the Masterpiece Café outdoor stage.

Saturday evening at 6 p.m., Walker Montgomery got the crowd warmed up, then Dillon Carmichael hit the stage. Jesse Keith Whitley joined him on stage for a song.

Mayor Harold Slone introduced the main act, ACM, CMA, Grammy winner and the youngest artist inducted into the iconic Grand Ole Opry at the age of 24, the “Duchess of County Music” Lorrie Morgan took the stage and entertained a large crowd. To the delight of the crowd, her son Jesse Keith also joined her son stage. Mayor Slone also presented Jesse a “Key to the City”
