LOUISA — The 11th annual Lawrence County Fair has added more entertainment for July 29, with American Idol Contestant and Kentucky FFA member Corey Hedge performing before the Lawrence County Fair & King Brothers Rodeo, which will be followed by Alex Miller who is also a previous American Idol Contestant.

Hedge, 17, is from Olive Hill in Carter County and was a contestant for the 21st season of American Idol. Hedge was able to obtain a golden ticket for Hollywood, but was eliminated from the show in week one in Hollywood.

Miller, who was 17-years-old at the time, and from Lancaster, Ky., was a contestant on season 19 of American Idol and during his audition, he performed an original song called, “I’m Over You, So Get Over Me,” which he said he wrote for his ex-girlfriend.

Miller’s journey ended on American Idol after the ‘Showstopper Round,’ however he has continued to make music and to perform with his band, ‘The Valley Varmints.’

They will be performing songs from his 2022 debut album, Miller Time, as well as new music from an upcoming EP due out in October.

During the last 18 months, he has shared the stage with Brooks & Dunn, Hank Williams Jr., Lee Brice, Josh Turner, Easton Corbin, Jamey Johnson, Niko Moon, King Calaway, Aaron Watson, Diamond Rio, Sawyer Brown and many others.

Miller also has shows lined up with Chris Janson, Drake Milligan, HunterGirl, Noah Thompson and Tracy Byrd booked this summer.

In March Miller debuted his monthly ‘Miller Time’ radio show on Country Music Radio in Nashville, Europe’s number one County Music Radio Station and new episodes will run through the end of 2023.
